Unless otherwise stated, all CSIS Training sessions are delivered via Web Conference. Upon enrolling in a session, your name and email address is added to the roster for that session. One or two days before the training date, you will receive instructions on how to access the Web Conference site. Any materials you may need for the training session will be attached to the email. CSIS Training sessions are tailored for specific audiences defined by experience level. The expected experience level for each training topic is described below. When enrolling for training, select a session that most closely describes your experience level. Please be aware that all training levels are not included for each training topic. If this presents a problem for you, please refer to the Training Support page for further information. After reading the descriptions, proceed to the CSIS Training Schedule/Registration site.

K12 Educational Data Management Overview
Target Audience: Staff new to data management and/or education, including those who have transitioned from other positions, responsibilities, and those acquiring additional responsibilities from organizational restructuring. Prerequisite: none Intended Outcome: Participants will be familiar with the key statewide education systems, the relationship state education systems have with local student information systems and how those data are used, best practices for data management teams, data security, and confidentiality. Target Audience: Staff who are primarily responsible for submitting, verifying and certifying electronic state reporting, including CALPADS. Prerequisite: Attended K-12 Educational Data Management Overview or have Data Management experience Intended Outcome: Participants will understand the big picture of reporting requirements for the 2011/2012 school year including changes in the statewide systems, lessons learned, and best practices for state reporting. Target Audience: LEA administrators and those supervising staff that are responsible for submitting, verifying and certifying electronic state reporting, including CALPADS. Address Validation TrainingThis course will explain how to submit demographic and enrollment records for students that already have Statewide Student IDs. It will also explain the purpose of Address Validation and the role it plays in an Enrollment Update. The course will cover the purpose of the enrollment update submission, the list of required fields, and a live demonstration of an enrollment update submission. It will also introduce users to the Address Validation reports and explain how they should be used. Target Audience: For LEAs who want to submit student addresses for the purpose of Direct Certification or Address Validation. ELC (Eligibility in the Local Context) TrainingThe SRRTS ELC submission enables LEAs to electronically submit qualifying student records to the University of California-Office of the President (UCOP) for eligibility consideration for admittance to the UC system. This course provides detail instruction on ELC data population requirements that will enable users to electronically submit qualifying student records. ART (Academic Records Transfer) TrainingThe CSIS ART submission enables LEAs to electronically submit student records to any California public K-12 institution or college and university in the CSIS Transcript Center (CSIS TC) directory including all California Community College (CCC) and California State University (CSU) campuses. This course has three parts. The first part provides detail instruction on ART data population requirements that will enable users to electronically submit student records. The second part will focus on the SRRTS functionality. The third part will provide detailed instruction on the CSIS TC process and functionality, including how the end-users request, send and receive student records. Target Audience: Any LEA interested in participating in electronic records transfer to any college and university in the CSIS Transcript Center (CSIS TC) directory.
